An unforgettable weekend full of football and friendship in Rotterdam

Last weekend, we experienced a wonderful adventure in Rotterdam, a weekend that will stay with us for a long time.

It all started on Friday, July 5th, when we departed with a group of enthusiastic supporters and players towards the Van der Valk Hotel in Rotterdam.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed, and quickly prepared ourselves for dinner. We took the bus to Mateco Netherlands. It was an ideal opportunity to catch up with colleagues. Conversations naturally revolved around the Euro match of the evening: Spain versus Germany. We watched the match on a big screen. The tension was palpable, but the atmosphere was fantastic. Enjoying a delicious buffet and accompanying drinks, we cheered on our favorite teams. It was an intense match, and emotions ran high.

The next morning marked the start of the big football tournament. A total of 19 teams from the Mateco group were ready to give their best. The matches were played in four groups. Our pride, TVH Equipment, had a very strong group stage. The support from the traveling TVH Equipment fans in Belgian colors had a positive impact. With 3 wins and 1 draw, and a remarkable 23 goals scored, our players fought their way to the top of their group. Unfortunately, we narrowly lost in the quarterfinals on penalties to Romania, which put a slight damper on the festivities. Nevertheless, we were incredibly proud of their performances.

In the end, Statech Czech Republic emerged as the tournament winners. They played a strong tournament and deserved their victory. After a day filled with effort and excitement, it was time to relax. On Saturday evening, a delightful BBQ was organized, where all teams could enjoy good food, music, and camaraderie together.

The evening was completed by watching the Euro match between the Netherlands and Turkey together at the hotel. It was wonderful to share the match's excitement with supporters from different countries. It was a true football fiesta!

Sunday morning concluded our weekend with a communal breakfast. There was much discussion about the matches, goals, and thrilling moments. With a sense of fulfillment, we returned home with beautiful memories of a weekend filled with sports, fun, and friendship.

This weekend in Rotterdam was one to remember. We are already looking forward to the next tournament and the next opportunity to experience such wonderful moments together. Football connects us, and we got to experience it fully again this weekend. See you in 2 years!
