21 new JLG aerial work platforms for Molse construction machines

"Thanks in part to TVH Equipment, we succeed in keeping our promises to the customer."

The company Molse Bouwmachines built an impressive rental fleet of more than 450 machines in just six years. All 89 aerial work platforms in the wide and diverse assortment were supplied by TVH Equipment.

Jürgen Huysmans and Louis Van Gorp founded Molse Bouwmachines in November 2010 and still jointly lead the thriving and rapidly growing company. “Our roots are in the purchase and sale of used excavators,” says Jürgen. “Over time, other types of construction machinery were added: from mini-excavators to 40-ton machines and from forklifts to bulldozers. When customers asked if they could also rent from us, it seemed like a logical next step. But we quickly found that older machines are less suitable for that purpose.”

Strong Relationship of Trust
Therefore, Jürgen and Louis purchased 30 new excavators in 2017. Soon after, the first aerial work platforms followed. In his search for a supplier for these, Jürgen immediately thought of TVH Equipment: “At the beginning of my career, I was a sales representative at Gunco in Antwerp, which was later acquired by TVH. Jan Majean, who is now my regular contact at TVH Equipment, was my colleague back then. I know I can blindly trust his professional advice. He knows the machines inside and out and knows exactly which new types are the perfect addition to our existing assortment. I could compare the different models in minute detail on the TVH Equipment website, but thanks to Jan, I don’t have to spend time on that. That is, of course, a great convenience.”

Besides a competitive price, Molse Bouwmachines mainly chooses its suppliers based on their good service. Jürgen Huysmans: “We employ four mechanics ourselves, but it is very reassuring that we can always count on a quick intervention from TVH Equipment in case of emergency. And if we ever find ourselves short of a machine in our rental fleet due to circumstances, we simply rent one ourselves. The most important thing for us is that the customer is satisfied with the solutions we provide. Too heavy, too high: that doesn’t exist for us. We always have a suitable machine ready. Thanks to TVH Equipment, we also manage to keep that promise.”

Quality in Offering and Service
In recent years, the number of aerial work platforms at Molse Bouwmachines has steadily increased to 89, each from the American A-brand JLG. At the beginning of September, 21 more were added at MATEXPO in Kortrijk - the biennial trade fair for construction equipment. Specifically, a whole series of telescopic aerial work platforms - on wheels or tracks - with a wide range of working heights, and again a number of scissor lifts. “The demand from our customers continues to grow incessantly,” explains Jürgen. “In the Mol region, we are now by far the largest renter of industrial machines, but in practice, we operate nationwide and even in neighboring countries. Besides the high quality of our offering and our very young rental fleet, we owe our success to the flexibility and complementarity of our drivers. We take pride in always delivering the rental machines on time and to the right place. During very busy periods, we sometimes have five low loaders on the road to get everything to its place on time.

At the most recent MATEXPO, Jürgen Huysmans and Louis Van Gorp purchased no less than 110 machines in total. Partly to replace decommissioned equipment. Nevertheless, the rental fleet is gradually approaching the milestone of 500 machines: mainly excavators, telehandlers, dumpers, forklifts, and aerial work platforms. And also many smaller items and various accessories. Where will this growth end? “Our team now counts 14 people and 20 seems to be the maximum,” says Jürgen. “We will expand our rental fleet here and there a bit more, but it all has to remain manageable. If you try to do too much too quickly, the quality of execution inevitably suffers, and we absolutely do not want that.”

It's truly inspiring to read about Molse Bouwmachines' success! Building such a significant fleet in such a short time and establishing such a strong partnership with TVH Equipment is truly exemplary. Congratulations to the team! In the personnel lift rental market in Hungary (both boomlifts and scissor lifts), we can say that there are two main groups. There are the regional small businesses that have 2-3 boomlifts, their prices are relatively low, and they can quickly provide both machines and manpower. The second larger group is the rental companies that specialize comprehensively in lifting equipment (forklifts, cranes) and therefore have a larger fleet and can also provide nationwide coverage. Their pricing is slightly higher.
